Can I question the application of Bad "Bad Acting" here? Whenever Ruth is shown acting outside of wrestling - the very first scene at an audition, her scene study class etc. - she is seen to actually be a good actress, at least by 80s standards. The wrestling audition is purposefully bad acting and over the top as she is taking her cues from WWF.

I would say the trope still applies, but not to Ruth in general, only to her purposefully bad acting in the wrestling audition.
