"Tobias is a former psychiatrist turned aspiring actor (and is in denial about his obvious homosexuality)."
Or not. To be in denial he'd have to be aware of it, and he is blatantly not aware of the impression that his choices of wording make. I remember no evidence that he is gay.
Hide / Show RepliesAlthough there is one instance to the contrary, there were several scenes that strongly implied that he had lack of sexual interest in his wife because he was gay and she knew it, and the narrator more or less confirms this once (I think it's a comment to the effect of pretending to be in a relationship but not fooling anyone).
It does kind of depend on the episode. In some, Tobias just looks really clueless, whereas in others, the show does seem to go with the "deeply closeted" explanation. IIRC, the latter came up more later in the series.
Edited by Jordan HodorIn Season 4, Tobias reveals that he had no idea anyone thought he was gay. He also pursues a romantic relationship with a woman, DeBrie (a washed-up and drug-addicted actress).
I wanted some opinions before I touch anything. Aren't some of the examples in Aborted Arc more appropriate for Left Hanging?
I'm currently in the process of moving tropes to the various recap pages. Just letting people know so it doesn't look like I'm just deleting tropes from the main page for no reason.
Hide / Show RepliesI wanted to add in the little fact about how the plot revolved around the war in Iraq and the capture of Saddam Hussein. Which is more appropriate? Ripped from the Headlines or Real Life Writes the Plot?
Given the sheer amount of homages, references, and plain old blatant ripoffs, I'm surprised this series doesn't have it's own Shout-Out subpage.
