Technically, the rest of the Mane Six shouldn't have entered a military training facility without advance notice. Nopony actually mentions this, though, not even Spitfire.
BOOM. Ah, frig, the fourth wall was broken AGAIN.Did any else think that the Aesop of this episode was the wrong one? Why choose pushing yourself vs recklessness instead of something that might come up in a cooperative flying squad... like the idea that being a scene-hogging show off isn't as important as supporting your team-mates. That being a team member means putting the needs of the group over your own self-aggrandizement.
What a long strange trip I've been. Hide / Show RepliesI kind of still got that from the episode as well.
BOOM. Ah, frig, the fourth wall was broken AGAIN.I want to transfer the review I made for this episode from the main page to here, but how do I post a review for a recap work?
Hide / Show RepliesI thought this would be a suitable piece of text for the subtitle:
On October 10, 2010 the Equestrian Military established an elite school for the top one percent of its pegasi. Its purpose was to teach the lost art of aerial acrobatics and to insure that the handful of ponies who graduated were the best pegasi in the world. They succeeded. Today, the Equestrian Military calls it Advanced Acrobatics School. The flyers call it: WONDERBOLT ACADEMY.
Tell me if that seems too long.
Hide / Show RepliesIf its too long, you could always go with "Top Gun with Pegasi"
Stinger: Visit unabridged vers...(Rainbow Dash sonic rainbooms over the Air Control Tower)... MAVERICK!
Meh I'm just gonna go for it, if someone wants to take it down they can.
Edited by Blackie62I wonder if PaloSteno, a Brony review of "My Little Pony Friendshipis Magic" episodes, would use the "You Kidding" line from Nightmare Moon on discovering who wrote this episode, Merriwether Williams.

Is Secret Test of Character really an appropriate trope? It doesn't appear that Spitfire was aware of the depth of Lightning Dust's recklessness, as she is complimentary of Lightning Dust's tactic for clearing the clouds prior to learning how she nearly killed some ponies. And while it certainly was a personal lesson in humility for Rainbow Dash, I didn't see any evidence on Spitfire's part that this was what she was trying to teach Dash. Rather, she selected Lightning Dust because she "pushed" herself more than Rainbow.
