You do know that you can run Steam in offline mode and still play your games, right?
Did you know it has to be THE LATEST BUILD for that to work? Freaking 8 GB just to play Team Fortress 2 in Offline Mode. I don't care if all I have in training mode, it's better than nothing!
@Patcheresu...erm...the client's only 2MB last time I checked.
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerDiscussion regarding this page and the list of Steam games currently on TV Tropes on Wiki Talk here: /pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=15342974120A67833700
Edited by UnsungThe votes are currently 7:2 in favor of cutting the index entirely. If you do use this index, you may want to chime in.
Edited by Unsung"...like the PC equivalent of Xbox Live, except free, and marketed at an older demographic."
Marketed at an older demographic? Since when? All of the Xbox's most popular titles are rated M. How is that a younger demographic? The only difference between their demographics is one is for PC gamers and the other is for Console gamers.
Hide / Show RepliesI never really understood the remark either. Go ahead and kill the older demographic part.
I'm not sure if that Escapist article should be on the page. After reading the comments, it's incredibly apparent that the article is heavily inaccurate in how it says Steam is anti-competitive. Like, if you want to replace the article with one that actually does illustrate what Steam does wrong, then do it, but the current one just says "Steam forces you to use Steam to use a Steam-based addon and therefore it's anti-competitive."
Hide / Show RepliesGo ahead and remove it, if you want. Steam already has competition anyway.
For series where we also have pages for the individual entries, like Fallout for instance, do we list the entries that are on Steam or just leave it at the series name on the index?
Hide / Show RepliesLeave it as the series name- Steam is a downloading service. It's more accurate to say that it services Fallout as a whole than as a conduit for specific games in the series.
See you in the discussion pages.Ok. So it would have been preferable to just have Fallout3 before it had the older ones and New Vegas up, right?
This needs to be an index, me thinks, and there's no way in hell it's complete.

As far as completion, well, You Could Always Edit It Yourself.
See you in the discussion pages.
No comment love for Steam? The sales there are awesome ... snagged 20 games for 50 bucks (THQ Pack FTW), and half of them are actually pretty decent. And as for the DRM, the only thing I've got to complain about is the fact that I need to log in everytime I want to play a game, which is fine and dandy when my internet's up, but sucks when there's a blackout or if my ISP has its regular BSO Ds. And I haven't had a need to hit the "Backup Game" button yet, but I figure it must be a handy feature to have around. Never really joined in the community/multiplayer aspects - only one of my pals IRL is a Steam user, and the rest tend to use Garena for their multiplayer needs, since they typically have games that aren't ...quiet as authentic.
This sig is for emphasis, bitch! Hide / Show Replies
