Pulled this, for the reason given in the response:

  • The character is actually named for Pratchett's friend, the biologist Jack Cohen (who is also co-author of The Science of Discworld books).
    • Unlikely. David Hodges may have made a character appearance as Hodgesaargh the Lancre Falconer (David Hodges is a falconer himself), but portraying a biologist as a barbarian hero, extremely doubtful, especially given that Pratchett probably hadn't met Cohen in 1986 when The Light Fantastic was published.

The entry about forensics and Sherlock Holmes is false. When the first Holmes story has been published (1887) forensics was an established and well-developed concept (although detectives capable of using scientific tools and procedures were still very rare) and five years lated the first official forensics manual has been published in Germany.
