What makes you sure of that exactly? The official spellings are taken from various merchandise plus common sense.
Balaban is an existing Turkish name, and there were historical people in the Ottoman empire named Balaban. (I also know more than one people with this name.) I think this was probably a case of r-l confusion...
Bayazid has a variety of spelling variations, so I guess there's more of a leeway there, but in English it's usually rendered either "Bayazid" or "Bayezid". For what it's worth the Turkish wiki articles on the two historical people whom the character in the manga could be named after spell the name as "Bayezid", in Japanese the name is rendered "Bayazitto".

Speculate all you like, but it's written "Beyazit" on merchandise so that's the official spelling...
That's why I asked... (I don't really see the need to be so belligerent, though?)

Is there a link to the official name spellings? Because I'm fairly sure that "Baraban" & "Beyazit" should be Balaban & Bayazid, among other strange spellings...
