I think this works better as a stock phrase that doesn't have connotations about good vs evil or hero vs villain, since it can just as easily be used to talk about minor frivolities or jerkass behavior that's not justified, but the perpetrator shrugs it off as too minor to worry about, or even a "this is a pointless thing to argue".
