Does it have to be worded like this? There's an episode of Recess where T.J. asks Ms Finster if those are her shoes or if she mugged a clown on the way to school and in The Santa Clause Scott asks Neal where he'll get his sweaters when the circus pulls out of town.

Would these examples count?

Isn't this a "snowclone"? Most snowclone examples I know of are mutations of a seminal work that wasn't presented as a memetic twist ("Damnit, Jim, I'm a doctor, not an X!"), and most people are later supposed to be recognizing it as a twist of that reference. After all, "I'm a doctor not an X!" doesn't mean much if you don't recognize it as a Star Trek reference.

If it's a reference to something, I don't know what the seminal work was (obviously, someone, somewhere, said it first). I'm not sure that's required to be a snowclone- it's still a memetic "fill in X and Y" gag.

also on my 70's show when Leo (Tommy Chong) thought he inherited a million dollars from his dead uncle, he came down on the basement and Hyde said: "Huggy-bear called, he wants his suit back".
