I don't remember the name of it, but I remember seeing a film starring the Olsen twins, where the characters are hunting for a lost gold mine, but when they find it, a woman suddenly starts laughing like she has gone insane, which confuses the other characters until she explains that she recognizes that the "gold" is actually worthless fool's gold or pyrite.
Edit: I looked it up and the title of the film is How the West was Fun. I will add the example later.
