Uh, frankly, I'm confused as hell by this stuff being included under "Literature." Literature implies "good enough to get past agents, and editors, and book distributors and buyers."

If I can't find it on Amazon, at Barnes & Noble's, or at least at Powell's, it isn't literature. I don't care how many hits it's getting, it hasn't passed ANY of the above tests. I think it needs to be moved somewhere else, like "web original."

Literature is just published written works.

It just so happens that these were published via the web.

Hi. I want to know, as the Shousetsuka ni Narou Website is responsible for originally publishing many Web Serial Novels. May I start a page here on TV Tropes dedicated to the website and the most notable Web Novels originally published there that we have here? Thanks in advance.

I think we shouldn't list fanfics here, just original works. I mean, most novel-type fanfics qualify under this trope, but to avoid redundancy we put them in the Fan Work indexes and page. It'll also make it easier for people to distinguish them in their search. For example, I like fics but I'm curious about web-originated, original works, so I search them here. But whenever I'm searching for fanfics, then I'll just go to the Fan Works page/index.

Would it be possible to create this so it makes an index of works, instead of just being a list within a list?

Yeah, just add the [[index]] and [[/index]] commands at the beginning and at the end, respectively.

Someone clarify this for me: Do Web Serial Novels go under the Literature tab or the Web Original Tab on Trope pages?

It says they go under the Literature namespace on the main WSN page, but when I actually look at Trope pages I see stuff for Worm in the Web Original folders.

Can anyone clarify this for me? I want to add examples from Heretical Edge to trope pages, but I want to be sure I'm putting them in the right place.

EDIT: No answer nearly four months after posting, but I just saw this:

"Please note that these works go in the Literature/ namespace, and not Web Original."

... for the first time, so prepare to start seeing Heretical Edge pop up on the Literature sections of example pages!

For future reference to anyone reading this: This is correct. Web Serials should be categorized as Literature, not Web Originals.

And Ninja, the main Forums will definitely get you a faster answer. Page discussion is mostly to talk about edits, in my experience.

Hmm... I wonder if I should use any sites for this to post my stories. :3 I got lots of stuff on Facebook and my Gaia accounts, also saved to my laptop. ^_^

That seems more like a question for this forum.
