Seeing as we already have a Real Life example about the Roman army, I don't see why not.
Umm... the number of weapons a Walking Armory carries, and the weight of them (A scottish claymore weighs 5 lbs) don't way as much as implied by the description of this trope. Modern high-school students carry more weight.
Hide / Show RepliesIt's more hyperbole than anything. The main gist is "person carries a lot of weapons", which is impractical in most cases.
Link from Legend of Zelda is kind of perfect for this trope, it's a source of amusement for the fans who lampshade this trope in fanart and the such.
Hide / Show RepliesI know that fanart (and even some official art from the first game◊) tend to show the ludicrous amounts of items and weapons he comes across from game to game, but in-game, Link operates under Bag of Holding and Hyperspace Arsenal; besides his sword and shield, he's rarely seen carrying anything else. He has to be shown carrying all of them of his being to qualify for this trope.
Would a Truth In Television section work here? I'm an Infantry team leader, and my rifle looks like something out of MW 2, M4 Grenadier with ACOG, I've got a handgun on my chest, a knife on my vest, and usually there's some extra ammo for the 240 sitting somewhere...
I have this mystical skill in the infantry called "typing" First Civ Div, but fuck you once a grunt always disgruntled. Hide / Show Replies
