Where did the original title come from? I know where "Vorpal" comes from, but I don't see how it can be compared to a 5-second smother pillow of doom.
Agreed that we ought to change this, like if there were a trope called "vorpal sword" that would make some sort of sense, but pillows? And beyond the issue that if you're not familiar with Jabberwocky this title is baffling - "vorpal" is never actually defined in Alice Through the Looking Glass, even when Humpty Dumpty goes over the meanings of the words later in the book, he only covers the first verse. So who are any of us to say that this is even an accurate use of the word "vorpal"?
I saw this on TV back in the 90’s. The television showed a scene where a man tried to smother a sleeping woman in bed at night with either his gloved hand or a black rag. He switched to a pillow when he realized that it was taking a long time killing her. She died of asphyxiation. The man left and drove away in his vehicle. I remember a detective (not too sure) talked to another detective about someone got into her place and killed her (referring to woman). The killer could be around age50/60 with glasses. I’m not sure if he is an ex-husband or an ex-lover who tried to silent the woman but that is what it appeared to be. I’m sorry there is not much details here. It could be from TV series or a movie. Any idea will be great.
Is this only referring to unrealistic uses of this method, or all cases where it occurs? (E.g.: cases of using it against an infant, catatonic person, etc. are likely more feasible.)
Terrible, terrible title. Maybe "Easy Strangulation".
