Dr Lombriz: Is there a trope for when someone holds up the advert or whatever and then removes it, as per the second paragraph of this trope description, only it's not referring to advertising? I'm thinking of the episode of The Slmpsons where Homer becomes a surreal artist, and in the beginning is trying to make his grill, and after screwing a bunch of things up, cuts to a pristine grill, and Homer saying (paraphrased from memory) "Ah, a beautiful grill." Then he pulls the advert away from the viewpoint and we see Homer's (horrible) attempt and he goes "WHY DOESN'T MINE LOOK LIKE THAT?! D:"
