We have a trope for this? Because I'm working on a story that's pretty much all about this trope.

Umm, yes? I don't get what your asking here? You can based an entire story on a trope. Like TwoKinds is based on Interspecies Romance.

I feel like some examples don’t quite fit as the trope does deal with spellcaster rivalries that are primarily built on prejudice. Some examples have mages/wizards/etc arguing over how Black Magic shouldn’t be used with the world/narrative pretty much pointing to them being right. I feel like that wouldn’t be an example.
