I recommend reopening this discussion. The arguments in this thread came to a consensus that the Trope was worthy of being merged or otherwise deleted, but a crowned wasn't made.

This seems to be pretty redundant at its core its just Adaptation Distillation in the same media or a Reboot that coexists with the original. It doesn't seem unique enough to warrant a trope.
