I have to add, given how Truman Show details carefully what you would need to do to pull of a Truman Show plot, would it be a Deconstruction / Reconstruction of its own trope?

I wondered, do things like The Adjustment Bureau and Dark City and possibly even The Matrix qualify as this?- they don't have the tv aspect, but they have the same idea of "shadowy figures arrange people's lives".
