Would this include a person who died one one day, while their spouse died after their funeral? (Yes, there is a real life example. Actress Mary Tamm's husband, Marcus Ringrose died of a heart attack later in the day of her funeral, as he was responding to condolences. Some said they never heard him speak more eloquently as when he eulogized his wife.)

Would a person (usually the BBEG) dragging someone else (usually the protagonist) to join his own death qualify this trope?
