Some Natter I removed from the main page:

  • But wait, there's more... Anthropomorphic squid (or giant version) for 8 arms. Then you get multiweapon fighting, improved multiweapon fighting, greater multiweapon fighting, and the ever so epic perfect multiweapon fighting. Then you get 8 weapons with the speed enhancement. You could dip into classes but this effectively gives you 8*5=40 attacks with a class that has Full base attack bonus. Multiply this by 2 for 80 attacks. Throw in a belt of battle which gives you an extra full round action as a swift action (you can do this in tandem with the full round action requirement cost for the maneuver) for 120 attacks in a single round. I have seen builds that get millions of attacks but this is just a demonstration.

I removed these examples because they have no sources. Anyone recognize them?

  • A Sci-Fi story about a man with six fingers who learned how to move sixty times faster than the rest of the world. However, 1) he's not the only one, and 2) he also ages sixty times faster and doesn't get it until he dies of old age.

  • There was a novel where a man sees a strange ball of lightning striking near his house. The next morning, he realizes that everything around him is slowed down. Worse, it keeps slowing down and will result in him aging and turning to dust in a matter of (real, outside) minutes if he doesn't stop it (he calculates at one point that he is 300 times faster than everything around him).

He attempts to communicate with a neighbor via the use of a typewriter. He types a message and has to wait for about an hour (his time) before the neighbor notices it. The novel points out the dangers of moving at these speeds, as he is constantly ripping his clothes and wounding himself on any object he accidentally hits, even tree branches. A bum who was near his house at the time is also hyper-accelerated. He uses this opportunity to steal. Both are eventually restored to normal, but the mysterious cause is never revealed.

The protagonist at one point remembers reading The New Accelerator by H. G. Wells and noting that certain things done in the story are ludicrous, such as throwing a dog, which would have resulted in the dog having its head ripped off.

Despoilered the Star Trek The Original Series "Wink of an Eye" example. The episode was broadcast in 1968, 44 years ago, and really doesn't need to be spoilered.

Anyone notice that the trope namer, a Lewis Black quote, is nowhere to be found on this page? I would add it, but I don't know if it would go under 'Other' or 'Live Action TV', since it's from a Comedy Central Presents stand-up special.
