This is all true but not entirely true. Seating structures in terms of power run:
Head, 1st right, 2nd right, 1st left ,2nd left, then right left down the table. Big Bang Theory displays this perfectly with the way the characters sit on the couch etc. Ironically Sheldon seems unaware he always picks second. It is basically the plot of Community with the interesting/defining thing that Pierce sits in opposition to Jeff. But it shows up everywhere.
