Would Super Speed be a trope? In the first game, tapping space while running forward would allow you to dart down hallways at top speed and slamming into a wall would kill you instantly.
Hide / Show RepliesI guess it could be listed although it should be mentioned that it isn't intentional but caused by imperfect physics engine.
Or you could just mention the Speed Potions as a more temporary example of the trope.
What's with the mass-erase by Iron Lion? "Complete Monster" did drag on a bit, but it could have been shortened instead of erased. Eye Scream was DEFINITELY a trope used, why erase that? The other ones did have a bit of natter, but then you edit it out, not erase entire entries all together! Sinister Minister and Omnicidal Maniac were also deleted from teh examples. The only reason given was "edit tip 9" which seems to be "make sure it's accurate". Uhm, those examples WERE accurate, unless for some reason you think that the bad guys were the good guys and were woefully misinterpreted, in which case, you have a mental problem.
I'm going to give Iron Lion 24 hours to respond before i put back the edits he took out, because i quite frankly don't agree with gutting a sizable portion of a page for no real reason.
Hide / Show RepliesOops, okay, i found the Tips Worksheet. Still, no reason to DELETE the examples. Just remove the spoiler tags! Sheesh!
Anyone notice some of the similarities between Thief: Dark Project and Loom?
Bobbin - Garrett
Parentless loners who are booted from their respective guilds because they were feared to be out of the realm of control.
Weavers - Keepers
Both are groups of extreme, reality bending power that rely on prophecy and tradition to guide their decisions. They even dress similarly.
Drafts - Glyphs
Fancy gimmicky spell-making mechanisms.
Glassmakers/Blacksmiths/Clerics - Hammers
Order-keeping guilds of the world.
Chaos - The Trickster
Old dormant force of nature who wants to destroy the order of man.
The overall plot similarities were most striking for me. Basically, a loner is banished from his guild out of fear, tricked/coerced into a plot to bring back an old god of chaos that would ruin man, and then uses his wits to trick a god and save the world from doom?
Interesting indeed.
