Does it count if a character's video game character keeps dying over and over?
A side-note on the big South Park/Kenny section — nobody remembers Kenny's deaths, but Cartman claims "He dies all the time!" in the "Cartmanland" section of the article. If any other character had said this, I would say it's safe to call it a throwaway joke. However, this is Cartman we're talking about. If he remembers Kenny's many deaths, pretending not to know — specifically because he knows it would piss Kenny off — seems like something he would do.
Thoughts?
Also, what trope would be in effect here, if you feel that this holds water?
Edited by 72.24.156.68 Hide / Show RepliesWell, it WOULD certainly be in character for Cartman, but wasn't Cartmanland well before Kenny's powers and backstory were defined during the Coon Trilogy?
Shamelessly plugging my comics, Oh yes.- The various members of the Waterfall family are always killed off at the end of the episode they're featured in, with the Waterfall that will be featured next time lamenting their demise.
Come on, that doesn't count. That's like saying Star Trek did this with red shirted ensigns; it doesn't count unless they come back after.
I'm a Troper!!!I hope no ever changes the trope name on this. Show some respect for Kenny! ;-)
Two more words: Elaborate, please.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.
