Unico runs on this trope, but I'm having trouble writing a non-nattery entry that still states why it's an example. :( So I figured I'll at least mention here.

"Ma-Ti of Captain Planet had "heart" as his element, considered to be a warped version of this, which garnered a lot of ridicule for how little and ineffectively it was used, as well as how ridiculously it was named. However, it is actually an awesome power, probably the best when you think about it. He has mind-control and the ability to summon potentially deadly animals as his powers, which he could use for very mischievous purposes if he wasn't so kind-hearted."

In one of the later episodes, Ma-Ti 'speaks' to a pack of wolves to get them to run to safety. Imagine if he was a nasty fellow and carefully guided them to attack the bad guy.

His power can also reach -or find- anyone living on Earth. Major disaster: instead of a random search, "Dig here."

So, does this refer to romantic love only, or to love in general? Because anything in the description could refer to platonic love, such as that between family members. If so, than wouldn't this be a supertrope to The Power of Friendship?

Removed for being Complaining About Shows You Dont Like and terminally inaccurate:

  • Then in Superman Returns, Supes is dead. Ceased to exist. Dead. Gone for the rest of eternity! But then, kid touches him (Its Worse Than It Sounds) and suddenly, he lives again to throw an island made of Kryptonite into space. And yet, most people still insist that this was better than the much-maligned Superman III, which doesn't have a POL moment to speak of.

On the second thought, I have removed the Superman examples altogether:

  • Then there's the Superman movies...
    • In Superman the Movie, Superman suddenly musters the ability to go back in time to save Lois. This is usually seen as just a stupid Deus ex Machina... buuut since we never see him do it any other time (except in the alternate cut of Superman II) it could be The Power of Love.
    • In Superman II, after somehow getting his powers back and defeating General Zod, is suddenly able to kiss Lois and erase her memories of the previous week-or-so.

I feel up to changing the page picture from the current to something involving Doctor Who's Rory Williams from the fifth season finale. The man got (very lengthy) mentions on the series Crowning Moment Of Awesome AND Crowning Moment Of Heartwarming pages for that series! Anyone agree with me on this?
