Why the new trope image? The old one was fine, and it showed more diversity in the trope than the current one does.(12 forms as compared to the 3 in the new image). Not trying to whine, not remotely so, just curious.

Without knowing what the old picture was (I assume it was just a picture of all the Doctors?), I'm guessing this shows the "process" leading to the new actor, whereas 12 different doctors is just 12 Faces and a Caption. Also, since Doctor Who has its own subpage, I'd imagine it'd fit in well there.

It's here where the change was discussed.

Why was the caption for the pic changed? The old one made better sense, but in case there's something about the current one that makes it fit better, I'm not gonna change it back until it's confirmed as just a random edit.

Please reply in PMs so I don't miss them.

Deleted the following:

  • In the 1940s Superman radio program, Supes' voice actor Bud Collyer was going on vacation and The Powers That Be needed a way to cover the lead actor's absence, so they came up with an idea: what if there were these strange green rocks that could make Superman sick? This allowed the groans of the ailing hero to be portrayed by someone else. Kryptonite became a Canon Immigrant some years down the line.

This trope is about in story explanations that justify real life casting changes for the same character. In the radio show, when Superman was sick from Kryptonite, another voice actor came in and played Batman making this at most a Suspiciously Similar Substitute.

And by the way, Siegel had already put forth a similar idea called K-metal, so the radio show kind of co-invented Kryptonite.
