Can someone rewrite this to make it less Natter-y?
- As this is a tabletop trope, all examples will be subjective. However, This Troper will admit to playing a Ranger with Favored Enemy: Undead not because he wanted to send them back to the grave, but because his hometown was intensively haunted, and learning to find, talk to, and interact with ghosts was a life skill. The church of Vecna that killed all the living there, on the other hand...

I'm thinking this would fit under Troper Tales in any case (which I'm not sure this site hosts anymore, whatevs).
Per TRS thread, this trope has been renamed to Hunter of Monsters.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"
