The article section of this trope is kind of weird in general, with a lot of discussion of specific occurrences, but this bit is simply wrong:

As the relevant The Simpsons example correctly points out, the episode did give an explanation: Lisa pretended to have been poisoned with the others, so that she could leave politely. I've cut the bolded sentence.
