I found OP. Shouldn't this image be credited? Or no?
Two for one combo-nation!Should Red Skull really count? His profile doesn't state that he's feared or intimidates most people(which is a requirement for The Dreaded), but just goes on to say how nobody likes him. That's not The Dreaded, that's The Despised. And I'm pretty sure most villains hate the guy rather than be afraid of him
Anti-hero was changed, it no longer has type numbers. Can we get an update on which types it references in here?
Hide / Show RepliesGeneric Anti-Hero, which is still a trope, not a specific form.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI'm not sure if there's a procedure for this, but I added a caption to the picture, linking to the video it's referencing.
Edited by 72.241.26.56To avoid repetition (there's a LOT of "The" Trope tropes), is it all right if we change the name into something like Dreaded Devil?
In RWBY, every girl is Best Girl. Hide / Show RepliesDreaded Devil would just make people complain that you don't actually have to be a devil or demon for this trope to work, and that the title is misleading.
I'd prefer to just stay with The Dreaded, nothing wrong with it, and why try to fix something that's not broken?
| Wandering, but not lost. | If people bring so much courage to this world...◊ |Dreaded Monster or Dreadling might've worked better as a suggestion, then.
I just don't like the overuse of "The" is a lot of tropes; makes it seme a little less creative.
In RWBY, every girl is Best Girl. The Dreaded pretty much sums up the trope. Dreadling sounds like it's an Anthropomorphic Personification of Dread, Dreaded Monster sounds like it's only about non-humanoids. I think it's fine as it is.
I'm a Troper!!!That latest Godzilla example at the top of live action film; what Godzilla is this referring to beating other monsters? Warning; my pop-culture knowledge is very weak.
The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books. Can this overlap with Famed In-Story?
"Think like a man of action, act like a man of thinking, and don't be a dumbass." Hide / Show RepliesHow so? The Dreaded is any character who makes the other side very, very scared when he approaches, as a defining characteristic, while Famed In-Story is to do with characters garnering fame in-universe and seems quite different.

Is the image source fanart? I remember seeing it on somebody's DeviantArt. If it is, shouldn't we credit the original artists?
