I don't know who drew the image, but it's a very good illustration; please do not change it to a baby. You can start an IP thread (with a link to a suggestion) and wait for discussion about changing or not changing the image, but it's probably not worth the time.

I dislike the sheer amount of ponies that get shoehorned on this site, but this is a good use of one.

I don't think so. Especially considering Ponies are bound to bring up red flags. ((And many including me have a burning hatred for the show for a pretty good reason.)) I'd suggest we change it to something we can all accept: Pikachu, Kirby or even Dot Warner or something would all fit better IMO.

I'm sure Pikachu, Kirby and Dot Warner have their own haters. Unless you have something more legitimate than "I don't like the show" then you should let it go.

Except they aren't posted everywhere like Lauren Faust's "Colorful magical Horses". There is a reason Ponies are look down upon these days.

Mario123311, it's not being "shoved into EVERYTHING". The vast vast majority of pages don't have MLP images, and "I don't like these images" is not a valid arguments for changing images nor will it convince anyone to change them.

On the contrary, it may convince someone to request/issue a ban on you for disruptive conduct.

This may be a bit late to the party here but I'll give my two cents on this.

While I'm fine with Fluttershy being the character image due to her personality encompassing the most common uses of the trope in question, I do think we should avoid using fan art for page images. I'd prefer we have an actual screencap or something just to keep things consistent.

We should avoid using MLP for a trope picture, it just sucks.

Avoiding fan-art for page images never was a consideration on this Wiki. Plenty of page images are fan-arts, just check the image source subpages. If a a fan-art fits best as trope illustration, it fits. Getting authorization from the artist is best, but not always possible.

I'm not entirely sure if the image is even fanart in the first place, as it looks very similar to Lauren Faust's concept art for Fluttershy back before she was even supposed to be a pegasus, (she was originally conceived without wings) however, I don't exactly have the time to verify my assumption right now...

Um, both of these opinions don't affect the suitability of the image at all. Going to oppose here.

But seriously, No. I am sick of seeing MLP everywhere I go. ((I would suggest a filter for anything MLP related but whatever)) But It's not cool to shoehorn Ponies especially into things like this. It's really an issue.

MLP is a little kids show, there's NOTHING "cute" about it.

Change it to Kirby or Giggles (from Happy Tree Friends), they're cuties.

It genuinely boggles my mind how so many people (assuming you're not a sockpuppet, of course) can get so worked up over the picture, and yet not one of you actually tried to do anything to change it. It's rather sad, really.
