"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanUltima IV: Quest of The Avatar might be the best example among the games, in terms of quality and the extent to which it fits the trope.
I'm not sure how to suggest an edit so I'm posting the suggestion as a comment.
It's kind of weird but yes I'm the unfortunate one...The Chosen One...tc1 and 3 are something to The Universe...why tc1 in lower case and 3...but 2 is almost as good as 3...I forgot...I'm going through hell though...its not easy being me...so far so good...take a look at the latest http://youtu.be/LD0oWzEJT14.
"Madoka Magica is a deconstruction of this and several other tropes Homura, one of Madoka's friends, has the ability to travel through time. When Madoka was killed (In Homura's timeline), she kept going back to stop her from dying. She failed repeatedly, causing numerous new time lines to form. These actions to prevent Madoka from becoming a Magical girl, inadvertently made her to become the chosen one, as so many timelines tied into her, her power greatly increased. She was chosen to be the geat (sic) savior/destroyer because of Homura's actions"
I think it would be more of a subversion than a deconstruction. Madoka's the chosen one, but only because of specifically outlined events as opposed to fate.
Edited by seg162What's the difference between this and Messianic Archetype ? to me the first sign of a Messianic Archetype has always been someone being declared a Chosen One
Will there be a Playing With section for this trope soon? Would be fun to find out how to properly avert/invert/reconstruct/deconstruct this.
"Videogames are bad for you? That's what they said about rock 'n' roll." - Shigeru Miyamotowhat are the chosen one's names??? Answer please because I don't know them all so far i have Annebeth,Rachel,Tyson, and Grover who are the others???
Is this song's lyrics fitting to the trope? Possibly not, but I figured it was worth a try.
"He's the one, pure in his heart Shining fair in the bliss never lost Noble grace, innocent faith Running throughout the fields immense Shouting free in the air again Dancing there with the wind"
I'm so tired of this trope and am desperately interested in finding stuff that subverts or ignores this trope.
