Honestly, other than a few shows and games made in this era, I don't really see anything too notable about the 90s. May just be because I was too young to remember most of it (hughn nietehs chiald :/), but at most, I actually have more fond memories of personal things that happen than any pop culture related things.
Granted, I like this era more than the Turn of the Millennium, but I may be bias because I went through a lot of personal trouble during that era... (Of course, there were many pop culture things I disliked about it too, but that kind of thing is a bit petty, IMO.)
Generally, so far of the eras I lived in, as of posting this on 2/16/15, I actually like The New '10s out of the three. Sure, there's stuff like politics (though that's always a touchy subject regardless of the era) and the internet censorship attempts, but I don't have as many personal problems as I once did, and in general, there's more about that era I liked when it came to works made in it than I disliked.
Edited by TokoWHYep, its true. :)
Edited by alexmccaffery Probably should get working on that essay now...And I thought I was alone.
Grimdark, insanity and saying humans are monsters is so easy and overrated.. try doing the opposite, internet tough guys! No. That honor goes to the Turn of the Millennium. That's not even 90s nostalgia.
Edited by TokoWHYMMV, But I find the 90's REALLY ANNOYING. People who say "I'm proud to be a 90's kid, it was better back then" should shut up in my honest opinion, and I was born in the 90's.
Hide / Show RepliesWell, at least it's better then The '80s, AKA, the ugliest decade with the worst music of the entire 20th cenutury, or even worse, the Turn of the Millennium, AKA the most unpleasant, distopian decade I've ever lived through. The '90s is kind of like the one good decade sandwiched between two god awful ones. Say what you will about The '90s, I'd take 90s bands like Nirvana, Soundgarden, Prodigy, etc over Prince, Micheal Jackson, Boy George, or any of those other bash you head agianst the wall, why where they ever popular to begin with, shitty Eighties bands that the radio WON'T. STOP. PLAYING. EVER! So in short, talk shit about The '90s all you want, still won't change the fact that it was the best decade of the past 3.
Edited by evil_cucumberKids from every era are nostalgic for their youth and complain about how rubbish things are in he present; it's an age-old problem. You won't get rid of it.
As for '80s music, it is actually far more varied and sometimes deeper than you think. I'd rather take even the more trite stuff over angsty guitar music and brain-thumping techno any day, mind.
Edited by 86.21.104.19Does anyone else think that the current page quote is... not good for this page at all? The song doesn't have anything to do with the 90s. Pretty sure it's referring to speed.
https://angelskingsandweirdos.com ''Where imagination takes wing... and then gets sucked into a jet turbine."Hey, under Tabletop Games, you might want to add the pages for The Old World of Darkness, particularly Vampire: The Masquerade. They were the big RPG's of the 90s, redefining the genre and making a lot of money in the process too.
Vig isn't mentioned anywhere in Fugazi's Other Wiki page.
Probably should get working on that essay now...Hi guys, the page isn't letting me edit it. Safys it couldn't find my lofin information, even though I'm logged in.
Also, I think that little poem's meant to be sung to "Back to the Eighties".
Edited by DoctorPingaswhat is that poem / song lyrics at the top? who wrote it?
Hide / Show RepliesI don't know who wrote it, but apparently it's sung to the tune of the All In the Family theme song.
My tropes launched: https://surenity2.blogspot.com/2021/02/my-tropes-on-tv-tropes.html
"The younger tropers might have been born at this time — possibly in the back of a white SUV."
Isn't this sentence outdated? By 2022, even the tropers born in 1999 would be 23-years-old. I would think the website has some younger tropers than that.
