Curious if anyone else thinks Murphy and Harry from The Dresden Files counts toward this (also, possibly, Susan and Harry). While Harry is undeniably badass, for most of the series, it's his knowledge and magic, not physical ability, while Murphy is all about physical toughness (hand-to-hand or guns), as is Susan after she's infected by the Red Court.
Or is that stretching things?

It's a stretch. Harry is still generally the combat guy, even if Murphy is more physically strong. She's strong, but he's still powerful.

I think Po and Tigress from Kung Fu Panda don't fit here, his encyclopedic knowledge about kung fu panda was never plot relevant, it's only to provide comedy scenes, and sometimes he can be quite stupid, being easily fooled by Shifu for example.
