The description claims NO ONE calls their pets any of these names, but that's obviously not true - just because it might be silly or trite and rare doesn't mean it never happens. I know of three tomcats called Tom (okay, one, as the other are Major Tom and Thomas.) and you can almost guarentee there are people who name pets such obvious names on purpose.
Hide / Show RepliesIt should be mentioned as a Dead Horse Trope. No one over the age of two unironically names a dog Spot anymore. Of course, there are plenty of parents who do let children name their pets which does lead to unironic instances of this.

Seems to be pretty much a given that if you own a working sheepdog in Ireland, it will be called Shep.
