In the Walking Dead example, does the guy know how to pick a lock? He outright says that he can't, so unless he's lying it's not this trope, it's just... a guy being prejudiced.
In The Walking Dead, while Lee (black) and Kenny (white) have this exchange when faced with a locked door.
Kenny: Hey. Lee. You know how to pick a lock, right? Lee: No! Why would you think that?! Kenny: (Beat) Well. You're... you know... "urban"? Lee: Oh, you are NOT saying what I think you are saying.
