The problem with this material under Axis Powers Hetalia is that it is conversational material on the topic, not an account of how the trope appears in the work. It is natter. Also, a trope about stereotypical Italy is not an article on real Italy.

  • Curious, since northern Italians are often accused by the southerners of having a blander cuisine (thanks to French, German and Slavic influences) and 'culpable' of using butter and sometimes lard instead of olive oil...northern Italians often retort that the southerners' cuisine slathers tomato sauce, garlic and red pepper over pretty much EVERYTHING to the point of completely messing up flavours and aromas (obviously the tomato/garlic/pepper triad is most commonly associated with 'Italianate' cuisine thanks to the huge number of impoverished southerners migrating all over the world in the late 1800s/early 1900s).

Don't know if it is intentionally left out, but Sicily is NOT a city, but a region (a mostly geographical division, comparable to a "State" in the U.S.). I think it should be pointed out with a note, as it seems to be a kind of a trope-in-an-article-about-a-trope, and not all people visiting would also click the link to the "real country" at the bottom of the article. Sorry for nitpicking.
