RE: The Independence Day example. I might be misremembering, but wasn't the in-character voice of what I assume was an Apollo astronaut reading the plaque aloud in the original English?

I wrote a trope that is rather similar to this one, "Keep Reading". It also features a character reading something out loud for the benefit of the audience. But in my case it's more specific: one character prods the other to "Read it!" and the reader even shows signs of how awkward it feels to be reading it out loud. Think they should be merged?
