Humans aren't "believed to be related to apes". Biologically, they are apes. Using the wishy-washy language present on the page right now makes it seem as if there is some controversy regarding this fact.

I'm pretty sure we're hominids.Apes are a different genus, but we are primates/anthropods.Very closely related to apes, though.

"Ape" is technically both a colloquial term and a superfamily Hominoidea of which humans are part of. "Primate" is an order of which Hominoidea is a subgroup.
