I vote not needed. This trope is particularly about Slasher Movie killers, not just killers in general. I doubt there would be too much confusion from the name

I agree with blueranger, it's not needed. Slasher is much more common parlance for... well, the killer in slasher movies.

It might be a good idea to change the name to "Killers Prefer Blondes," given that "slasher" also refers to people who write fanfic with non-canon pairings, non-canon same-sex pairings, or same-sex pairings in general.
