100% agreed. Police shootings are a controversial subject and it's also disrespectful to the families and friends of people killed by police to use them as trope examples on this nerd website. This site has a bad rep as it is, this just makes it worse.

I don't see what is supposedly "disrespectful" about acknowledging that the trope happens in real life any more than, say, Death by Childbirth. The part about the friends and families it disrespectful also seems patently untrue given that the families of victims usually want as many people to know about it as possible.

I feel like this entire article needs a heavy dose of Rule Of Cautious Editing Judgment and No Real Life Examples Please. We should acknowledge that these sort of tragedies do occur in real life, but it's a political Edit War waiting to happen, if you ask me.
