I just watched episode 6 of Amphibia, in which two characters go through a shared hallucination, which is not a cover-up for any other weird stuff - it is two people actually going through the same Mushroom Samba together. Is there a trope for that?

The page first says that these are impossible, but then the Real Life section seems to disagree. So who's right then?

This trope seems to be about dismissing genuinely weird stuff as a "mass hallucination."

What do we call cases that actually are mass hallucinations? It seems like it would be a different trope. Do We Have This? And if we do, the Girl Genius example should probably be moved over there...
