Um... Kind of a new troper, but I was wondering if there was a trope related to this, but rather than being a Jerkass about it, the person just is horribly repressed and self-hating, essentially acting in instead of acting out? Basically Internalized Categorism, but specific to this kind of mindset? The main Sex is Evil page seems to be more about the tone of a work, rather than being internalized into a character. Is this somewhere on TV Tropes and I just missed it, or is this not common enough to be considered a trope?
Why do I ask? No reason.

Yeah, Internalized Categorism is the closest we have as far as I know. Then again, this trope have room for lots of Internal Subtropes.
I guess the closest one here would be Internalized Paraphobia, with Paraphobia being categorism against "deviant" sexuality - the definition of deviant versus normal being totally arbitrary. When the "normal" sexuality is restricted to a married woman once per year doing the Lie Back and Think of England, then all sexuality beyond that is deviant.
Hey, thanks for your reply. Yeah, I don't think it's common enough to justify a trope of its own, but there are people out there that even have trouble with mild, mainstream aspects of sexual expression such as flirting or dating (this troper is a human male and markedly heterosexual), due to tremendous fear of being a "pervert". There just doesn't seem to be much material out there that serves as an example of this concept, though, and I was hoping there would be. Might it be more of a general relationship trope rather than a sex trope specifically?
Thanks very much for your answer.

I think it's sadly quite common in Real Life. But this is TV Tropes, so the question is how common it is in media. It's a subtle condition, and can thus be hard to portray in fiction.
However, what you describe make me think of Hideki in Chobits, and Bitchy Bitch have had quite a struggle as well. Oh, and the page quote song for Sex Is Evil, and I Am Horny is an example as well. Yay, we have a trope! Starting it on YKTTW now, back in a bit with the link. :-)
Edited by XzenuDid you know you're awesome? Probably, but I feel the need to point it out. :-)
I am confused about the boundaries between this trope and "Paralyzing Fear of Sexuality." For many people who think that "Sex is Evil and I am Horny" may neither be so paralyzed as to lash out at others (as this trope implies), and yet still may internalize it without being paralyzed. For these people, I think that the common response would be guilt. Is there a trope for that? The title for this trope seems to cover this case, but the description definitely does not.
