Could Beware of Hitchhiking Ghosts be considered a sort of sub-trope of Secret Identity, along the lines of God Was My Copilot and Angel Unaware? The similarities and occasional overlap (as in the stories about Pele) between this set of tropes are mentioned a bit on their pages— they all have the idea of an entity who seems to be normal being revealed after-the-fact to be supernatural.

Say, does Secretly Wealthy count as subtrope of Secret Identity? For additional reference, it compares itself with King Incognito, which is a subtrope of Secret Identity.

Is it just me, or is there an abnormal lack of listing Secret Identity on work articles and character sheets in the Superhero and Magical Girl genres?

And yes, it is technically a healthy trope in terms of overall wicks. However, IMO, you know that something went wrong somewhere when such a trope that so central to the traditional form of the Super Hero and Magical Girl genres to have no wick at all pointing to The DCU (it only has one for The DCAU), the Marvel Universe, Sailor Moon, Cutey Honey, or other staple works of their respective genre, or to only have 90 of its 700 wicks pointing to character pages, which are more or less split evenly between Super Hero / Magical Girl works and non-Super Hero / Magical Girl works.

Omnipresent Trope effect? Because it is so fundamental that people forget it exists.

Okay, any suggestions as to how to best address this?

Can't force people to add stuff, can't make people suddenly remember things they take so for granted that it never even crosses their mind. I hate to say this, but we've got a classic case of "you found it, you fix it". You could maybe make a thread in special efforts, but really, if the lack bothers you then the ultimate answer is for you to do the legwork and add it where appropriate.

The slow and steady approach is all nice and well, but ultimately it isn't going to help me with works and franchises where I know that the trope does exist in it, but not enough to avoid X Just X or One World Example.

Maybe I will open a Special Efforts thread...

Are Angel Unaware, God Was My Copilot, and King Incognito suptropes of this?
