This troper got bored/slightly insane and decided to try and send an email to Santa at santaclaus@thenorthpole.com. She has not yet gotten anything back, not even a "Sorry, the address you entered doesn't exist." Since she didn't expect it to work, the email she sent was rather dorky. Suggestions for topics/questions/things to say?
Also, if the address isn't real (and seriously, who expects it to be?), suggestions for other addresses to try?
And before you ridicule me for being so stupid, consider two things: one, I'm bored out of my mind. Two, wouldn't it be awesome if it worked?
Should we group the portrayals under folders? It seems like that could be useful, instead of haphazardly throwing in favorites into the main description. Sample folders:
Traditional Santa Claus
"Bad" Santa Claus
Santa Claus as one of the Fey
Non-Christian Santa Claus
Crazy with dreams of the future and knowledge of the past.
"As Wiccans will be happy to tell you, he may even be older than that, as the Yule Father, the dating is ambiguous though."
Uh, isn't Yule Father just Santa with a pagan-ish veneer that Wiccan families made up so their kids won't get left out? If we look at the old Norse holiday, there is no such figure (Odin did fly about but he didn't exactly give presents to the people he encountered. What he did was more akin to The Wild Hunt).
