I've seen quite a few literal examples of sad clowns here. But this trope is SUPPOSED to be about depressed characters who act funny to hide their depression. Unless they fit the trope description, please remove them.
Deleted the following line:
Zero Context Example, doesn't tell us anything. Someone with more knowlegde may add it back.
Would Hoagie "Numbah Two" Gilligan in Codename Kids Next Door be one? The whole show's a comedy, but he's the one who tries the hardest to crack jokes, sometimes at inappropriate moments. It definitely feels like he has some internal turmoil inside, but I'd need someone who knows the show better than me to explain it.
Krusty the Clown is a clown and whenever he's on he's mostly in a depressed state or says something really depressive.
So, I can't help but notice that most of the links aren't embedded properly. Like, whenever someone tries to link to a You Tube video, it's presented as just regular text surrounded by double-brackets instead of a link. Anyone know how to fix this?
