You know, I've been thinking:
Could a Sacred Cow be, in essence, a main character version of an Ensemble Darkhorse (Which, as TV Tropes puts it, is a really popular and beloved minor character in the grand scope of a franchise)?
I'd like to direct to you the attention of this entry in the YMMV page of Super Mario Bros where Luigi is labeled as a Sacred Cow:
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/YMMV/SuperMarioBros
And Kirby is labeled as a Sacred Cow:

And Goku is labeled as a Sacred Cow:

Edited by P360360PI feel Le Var Burton has lost his title after he called Cancel Culture "Consequence culture", even if you agree it's so divisive a topic it no longer qualifies him as a sacred cow
I think a much better page quote would be from Web Video/Sequelitis when he's ranting about The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: "What the hell am I doing with my life? I am harshly criticizing Ocarina of Time on the internet! I'M GONNA GET CRUCIFIED!"
Hide / Show RepliesThat's already on the quotes subpage. Take it to the General Page Quote Discussion thread if you want to swap it in on the main trope page.
Keet cleanupNope, it's a YMMV trope and doesn't really lend itself well to examples as it's a pretty nebulous thing as anything and everything can be considered it depending on your perspective.

Honestly, this has always been one of my biggest Pet Peeve Tropes because nothing is really a masterpiece. There are even certain works I've seen with this trope that I find highly overrated and not really worth the praise or hype.
