It has been almost a decade since that comment was posted, and nothing has been done. LOL

It looks like most of Random Drop is copied directly from Rare Random Drop, so we now have two essentially identical tropes, despite the good intentions of the description pointing out that Rare has its own trope. My opinion is that all video-game Random Drop examples should be removed, unless they are playing with the trope in an interesting way, and add the following to the description:

"Random drops are such an integral part of tabletop and video gaming that examples should not be added unless they are historically important, or parody, subvert, or otherwise play with the trope."
