Should this trope description be rewritten to make it more general - "character is written out in what seems a very cruel fashion; may be caused by backstage tensions" - rather than stating that that's always the case? I mean, the obvious problem is that that would be Put on a Bus, But Mean... but as it is it's too specific and relies upon rumour and assorted weirdness.
