Not sure if this is already a thing, but i think a sub topic should be "Token on a Bus" for token minority characters (or token white character on a minority centric show or movie series) where that character is put on the bus in later seasons. This could include CSI Miami, Newsradio (with the same actress), Buffy, CSI, Smallville, L&O SVU (replaced with Ice T) reality dating shows, Hunger Games, Angel, NFL Today and Fox NFL Sunday (Female).

Would this trope also apply for the case when a character is written out without killing them off, but they are never intended to return either? Suppose, the case being that the actor had a really nasty disagreement with the writer, and the character was put on the bus, albeit never intended to return, but without a Bus Crash?

Can one-shot characters that only appear in one episode really count for this trope?
