page picture does not exemplifies the trope. So, from a non-brony outsider viewpoint, a Psychological Torment Zone is a dark place with red ground where ponies stare at a platform-game abysm? sorry, not enough info, need some revision.

There's no Part 1, I just thought it was funny at the time.

Uh-oh, I think this got launched before it found a good name. "Epiphanic Purgatory" takes the trope in such a different direction from the working title that most of the examples no longer fit.

I agree. It is definitely related to Epiphanic Prison, but is distinct enough that its current name doesn't really describe it well.
