In my experience, this happens with anime figures sometimes. (In particular, the Yu-Gi-Oh! Kotobukiya figures come with extra miniature figures or props if you preorder them.) I'd add it as an example, but "collectible figurine" isn't really a fiction genre. Would it be considered an anime example, or miscellaneous, or does it not belong here at all?

It doesn't belong there at all, because we don't do "general medium examples" as described in How to Write an Example. A brief note in the description is OK though.

Think we oughta add a "Troper Tales" page on what we remember/recently preordered...?
I kinda find Pre-Registration bonuses to be a similar thing.
I was pondering whether or not they can get a separate trope page.
