Linking to a past Trope Repair Shop thread that dealt with this page: RenamePassive Aggressive Kombat, started by mack on Nov 2nd 2010 at 2:20:06 PM

Surely it's time to change the main heading from Kombat to Combat, and swap Kombat to a redirect. The "K" seems to be based on a reference to a reference, and has no real benefit to simply naming it Combat.

Why the K? This is not related to Mortal Kombat, so why?

Why should it be? And if you read the description, you would know why it's called that.

I know what the trope is about. I just wonder: Why the "K" spelling? Why not Passive Aggressive Combat? As said, it doesn't exactly have to do with Mortal Kombat.

OK, so it's from a pretty obscure work I didn't watch.

The source is in the first example on this very trope page, so it didn't matter if you didn't watch the show, just that you should have read the first example.

Then let me point out it would make more sense to use a quote where the trope name is actually used. And now let's close this.

No, this is not closed, since you are singling this page out for something common. You have to have all such pages fixed, not just this.

Incorrect, DQZ: "You haven't fixed <that> page that has the same problem" is not a good reason to not fix <this> page. By that reasoning, we can't repair any page unless and until we find all others that have the same problem and repair them all at the same time.

And I agree, aside from making a reference to a far-from-well-known webshow, there's no reason for this to be Kombat rather than Combat.

I wasn't claiming we need to do others first, just that we have to do it afterward, or the rule is singling out a page unfairly.

We could just retcon it to a Mortal Kombat reference? It sounds like that was the joke this was based on anyway and the name worked for me as one before I found out it's true origins

What is this quote? That's a terrible quote. It makes no sense. Does anyone have a better one?

I'll look up the video it came from so I can add the proper context to the quote. I should have done that earlier.
