So, the Steam adaptation of Sentinels of the Multiverse gave each villain their own Leitmotif that plays when they win. The Matriarch, an Emo Teen who's actually has the supernatural powers to back it up (specifically, control over Creepy Crows), has an overly dramatic song with crows cawing throughout and a and a woman letting out a long, mournful wail, a song that all evidence suggest that she most likely composed herself and might actually be Source Music. That's definitely played with in some way.

Would the "oooohhhh" at the end of "It Can't Come Quickly Enough" by the Scissor Sisters count as one of these even though it's by a man? It is a very lonely moan/wail at the end of a very tragic sounding song.

These days it seems like this is mostly used to say 'this movie is deep and tragic!!1!'
